Programs

Check out our Omega Men in action.

The brothers of the Iota Pi Chapter have found themselves in all areas of industry in Grand Rapids. Here are some of the ways that our brothers stay active in their community.

Charles R. Drew Golf Outing

The Charles R. Drew Golf Outing is hosted each year to support scholarships given by the Omega Uplift Foundation. Join the men of Omega Psi Phi for a day of excellent golfing, relaxation, and socialization to benefit the education of African American men and support physical and mental health wellness of youth within Greater Grand Rapids.

Turkeys for Thanksgiving

Each year, the men of the Iota Pi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. distribute turkeys within our local community to families in need. We understand the importance of the time spent together making a delicious home-cooked meal, as well as remembering what we are thankful for each year. As pillars of our community, it is our duty to ensure that no one is left behind.

Purple Carpet Scholarship Ball

Hosted in partnership with the Omega Uplift Foundation, the Purple Carpet Scholarship Ball is a celebration to recognize students in the Grand Rapids area who have demonstrated a high level of academic success. During this event, we award the Randall Burt Scholarship to aid them in their pursuits of higher education. The event also serves to recognize the individuals in our community who have made impactful contributions.

Omega Scouts

Grand Rapids’ only inner-city boy scout troop, established in 2012, is sponsored by the Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Iota Pi Chapter.

Adopt-a-Family for Christmas

During the holiday season, we adopt a family in order to help them experience Christmas despite any financial difficulties that they may have. We believe that social action within our community is our responsibility and that everyone within our community deserves to be uplifted.

Voter Registration Initiative

As another program mandated by the national organization of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., we dedicate ourselves to voter registration, education, and mobilization. Every year, our brothers help members of the African American community in the Greater Grand Rapids area register to vote so their voices are heard.
